Currency Exchange Rates

The only network connection Flip Unit makes is to fetch currency exchange rates:

• Rates are fetched from ExchangeRate-API, a public currency API
• No user data is sent with these requests - only a request for the latest rates
• Rates are cached locally on your device for offline use
• No personally identifiable information is transmitted
• You can use all other conversion categories without any internet connection

No Account Required

Flip Unit works instantly without any registration:

• No login or signup required
• No email addresses collected
• No usernames or passwords stored
• No social media integration
• Just download and start converting

Local Storage Only

All app data is stored locally on your device and never leaves it:

• Conversion history - Stored locally using SwiftData (Apple's on-device database)
• Theme preferences - Stored in UserDefaults (iOS local storage)
• History limit settings - Stored locally
• Favorite categories - Stored locally
• No cloud sync - Your data is not backed up to any external servers
• No iCloud sync - We don't use iCloud to sync your data

No Ads or Third-Party Services

Flip Unit is a pure, standalone app:

• No advertising networks
• No social media integrations
• No crash reporting services that collect user data
• No analytics platforms
• No user behavior tracking of any kind

App Store Review Requests

Flip Unit may occasionally ask you to rate the app using Apple's native StoreKit review prompt. Here's how it works:

• We use Apple's built-in review request system
• Review timing is tracked locally on your device only
• Local tracking includes: number of conversions performed, categories used, and first launch date
• None of this data is ever sent to us - it's used solely to determine when to show the review prompt
• You can decline or ignore the prompt with no consequences

Children's Privacy

Flip Unit is safe for users of all ages:

• No data collection means automatic COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) compliance
• No age restrictions required
• No inappropriate content
• Safe for educational use

Data Retention

Since we don't collect any data, there's nothing to retain:

• We have no servers storing your data
• We have no databases with your information
• You can clear your local conversion history at any time through the app's Settings
• Uninstalling the app removes all local data from your device

Your Rights

• Right to deletion - There's no data to delete on our end; uninstall the app to remove local data
