How to Use Flip Unit

  1. Choose a category

    Select from Distance, Weight, Area, Temperature, Currency, or Cooking on the home screen.

  2. Enter a value

    Type the number you want to convert using the numeric keypad.

  3. Select your units

    Tap the "From" and "To" dropdowns to choose your source and target units.

  4. See instant results

    Your conversion appears instantly at the top of the screen as you type.

The Six Categories

Distance

Convert between metric (meters, km) and imperial (feet, miles) measurements.

Weight

Convert grams, kilograms, pounds, ounces, stone, and more.

Area

Square meters, acres, hectares, square feet, and other area measurements.

Temperature

Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin conversions.

Currency

162+ world currencies with daily updated exchange rates.

Cooking

Volumes, ingredient-specific cups, and cross-category conversions.

Tips & Tricks

  • Add favorites: Swipe left on any category card and tap the star to add it to your favorites for quick access.
  • View history: Tap the History tab to see your recent conversions.
  • Change theme: Go to Settings > Theme to switch between System, Light, or Dark mode.
  • Search units: Use the search bar on the home screen to quickly find categories and units.

  • Conversion results are announced automatically when they change
  • Unit pickers are organized with clear section headers (Metric/Imperial)

  • All text scales from the smallest to accessibility sizes
  • Layouts automatically adapt to accommodate larger text
  • No content is cut off at any text size
  • Respects your iOS text size preference

  • No required motion to use any app feature
  • Smooth experience for motion-sensitive users

Visual Accessibility

  • High contrast colors that meet WCAG guidelines
  • Semantic colors that adapt to Light and Dark mode
  • Minimum 44pt touch targets (exceeding Apple's guidelines)
  • Clear visual hierarchy and focus states

Differentiate Without Color

  • Information is never conveyed by color alone
  • Icons, labels, and shapes reinforce meaning
  • Accessible for users with color blindness

Multi-Sensory Feedback
